Since its foundation in 2005, IAS Industrial Automation has grown to become an innovative company specialising in the design and implementation of automation systems for industry and the infrastructure technology sector. The company was founded by Ron de Bruijn, who had previously worked for such renowned companies as Alfa Laval Automation/ABB, CIMSolutions and GTI/Cofely. Since 24 August 2015 IAS is part of Batenburg Techniek.
In 2005, IAS started focusing on industrial automation. We noticed that a gap had appeared in the market, particularly in the foodstuffs industry. It was apparent that many of our business relations no longer had a good, regular partner for automation.
In 2006, We decided to expand IAS into a fully-fledged company because the market was responding very enthusiastically to my approach. We found that our in-depth knowledge of systems and processes, our customer care and the solutions we supplied distinguished us from the competition, and this led to accreditation by ABB as a ‘Certified Premium Partner’.
Thanks, in part, to the partnership with ABB, we grew steadily. As a result, we also got increasing opportunities to tender for projects with – among others – district water boards. There, too, we found that we stood out from our competitors. The main thing that distinguishes us is the quality of the solutions we supply as well as the associated attention to the customer.
We are proud that many customers endorse this and act as ambassadors for our company. We now have more than 20 professionals working for us, and we expect to continue growing. The scale of the industry is constantly increasing, and with it the pressure on infrastructure and the complexity of processes; at the same time, expertise in process assurance and processing systems is becoming increasingly scarce.
Customers are simply unwilling to take risks, and they opt for quality because that pays for itself, literally and metaphorically.
